AboutYou’ve been following this new religious teacher. What he says challenges you—irritates you sometimes—but you stick with him because you know he’s right. You give and receive his books as gifts, and you’ve even downloaded a few of his podcasts. Finally he comes to your area, and you attend his conference. He finishes his talk and ends with a call to action….
You are driving down the highway, doing a good ten or eleven miles per hour over the speed limit. Unwittingly, you pass through a speed trap, and soon find a police cruiser on your tail with lights flashing in your rear view window. Darn, you think. I knew I should have slowed down.
If the grandeur of the book of Revelation doesn’t overwhelm you, you haven’t been reading it right. Revelation 5:11-12 describes part of the worship that takes place when the Lamb, Jesus Christ, takes hold of the scroll containing God’s holy judgments on the Earth. It says:
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
No big deal. There’s just about a hundred million plus angels singing in unison to the omnipotent Creator of the universe.
